Spring 2007 (March 19, 2007)

Hi Dad

Things are going well here.  We have been enjoying watching the ducks win.

We'd love to see you let me know when you'll be around.  We don't have any plans as of yet.

I got together with some girlfriends from U of O on Friday to watch the game.  Enjoy the photos.

 Love,

Beth

Snow in Portland - January 2007

Hi All

We enjoyed our snow day today.  Ben already had today off as he does every Tuesday.  I jumped for joy when I realized I didn't have to go to work either.

We went on a little cross country ski trek to get some lunch.  Hadley seemed to like the ride and got a kick at all the white stuff.

Enjoy the photos.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Take Care

Love,

Beth

Thanksgiving Sitting

Hi All

Hadley's Thanksgiving Soup!

Happy Halloween!

Hi

Just wanted to send you some photos of Hadley in her pumpkin Halloween costume.

Ben, Hadley and I went over to my mom's house for dinner and then we dressed Hadley in her costume.  We walked over to Vicki and John's house and trick or treated.  Everyone got such a kick out of her and she loved looking at herself in the mirror.Hope all is well with you.

Love,
Beth

Hadley meets Grandpa Paul: August 30, 2006:

Ben's dad Paul and his wife Sandy came into town last week to meet Hadley for the first time.   They arrived on Thursday in the late afternoon and after a tour of the house and a quick hello we were off to the beach house.   Traffic was a bear so we stopped off at Burgerville for tasty Pacific Northwest burgers (Ben's dad is a big fan of cheeseburgers).

We arrived at the house around 8:30pm and after getting settled in and trying to get Hadley down for bed we enjoyed our beverages of choice and turned in.

On Friday we leisured around the cabin, had breakfast and headed to Newport to the Oregon Coast Aquarium.   I hadn't been there for years and the exhibits were neat to see.   Hadley even enjoyed watching the fish swim around.

Ben,

Hadley and I went down to the beach as it was her first time to the coast.   Later that evening Paul, Ben and Sandy headed out to a nice seafood dinner at Kyllo's and I stayed home with Hadley.   She had already had such a busy day with going to the aquarium that Ben and I knew she would fuss through dinner.   I placed my order with them and they brought me back yummy crab cakes and salad.   We watched the movie Paradise Now.

On Saturday we had cookies and coffee for breakfast and chatted.   Ben's dad talked us into watching a an old war movie which turned out to be pretty good.  On the way home Ben, Paul and Sandy stopped to see the Spruce Goose at the Evergreen Aviation Museum and Hadley and I headed home.

On Sunday Ben was busy working on the house with Dave so Hadley and I took Paul and Sandy for a driving tour of Portland.   We went to the waterfront drove around downtown and then up to the Pittock Mansion for a great view of the city.  Paul and Sandy stayed at the Kennedy School which was a great suggestion from Grandpa Richard as they were super close to the house.   I know Paul especially liked added bonus of free movies in the theater.   We met for dinner to say our goodbyes.

It was a fantastic trip.   Everyone had a lot of fun.   Thank you Joel for the beach house it worked out perfectly.

 Love, Beth

Hadley's first Daniels Reunion:

The reunion was held in Eagle Crest this year.  This is a golf resort in central
Oregon near Redmond and Bend.  We stayed in 2 houses, next to each other.  You can see what they looked like here:

The weather was sunny and warm, but not hot.  The kids played golf on a scaled down turf course, swam in the pools, biked and hiked.  Linda's grandson Cole and Barb's niece Aundra joined the great-grand children Helen, Andrew, Marina, Ben and Hadley.

On Saturday we drove over to Barb's family's 2,000 acre ranch outside of Prineville.  There were 3 horses (Frank, Mack and Teelie) to be ridden.  You can see pictures of that here:

We finished the trip with a group picture ... here are 4 shots:  Matt (right side) and I (left side) took turns taking these and I cut and pasted the "missing" person into the photo so we'd all be there!

Here are a lot more pictures of Hadley and the Daniels Clan:

Hadley meets her Great Uncle Tom!

Beth brought Hadley out on Friday (Aug 5, 2006).  We had a picnic around Mother's pool.  Joel, Elaine, Rick, Levonne, Mark, Philip, Barbara, Helen, Jim were also there.

Hadley's Baptism

Sent August 1, 2006

Attached, please find pictures of the baptism weekend which included a day of helping with the siding project. Ben's sister, Rachael was here from Cour d Alene for the festivities and can swing a mean hammer. The Baptism was very nice and Hadley minded her manners. Jill and Kevin hosted the lunch that followed. They have a lovely home towards Rocky Butte near Madison High School. They've done some very nice treatments and colors in their house. Jill has quite the flare. Jill will be a new mother at Christmas time. Jill and Kevin are Hadley's god parents. TTYS, Richard [Ed. Note: Hadley's baptism took place at St. Charles Catholic Church and was officiated by Fr. Agnelo.]

Hi Dad, (June 27, 2007) Thanks for coming out on Saturday and bringing Grandma. I had a nice time visiting with you guys. Trying to stay cool. We turned the air conditioning on the last three days as it was too hot for the baby. She has been pretty fussy. Hopefully it will subside a bit as it starts to cool off or who knows we could just have a fussy baby on our hands! Enjoy the photos. Love, Beth

Hadley visits with Great-Grandmother Roberta and Grandmother Sheila ...

Dear All, Kim and I went to see Hadley Rose this afternoon. Aside from the chubby cheeks, she is tiny. She fusses little and nurses well. She is active and alert. Beth feels much better today and expects to be at home on Saturday. Beth has a lovely room with a big, long couch that visitors can make themselves to home (and perhaps stay too long.) Ben sleeps there at night. Ben has next week off and Beth has the whole summer off. Kate's boyfriend is visiting next week and then she and Judy are going to Los Angeles to see great-grandmother Jo. Jo's house is on the market and I am unsure of the plans and timeframe to move her up here.

Love, Richard and Kim
